My name is James Murphy, and I am happy to serve as the pastor of First United Methodist Church of Hico. I am originally from Copperas Cove, Texas, and the church has always been an important part of my life. I believe that the Bible is the inerrant word of God. I enjoy reading and meditating on God’s word. One of my favorite scripture passages from the Bible comes from Isaiah 43:1, “But now thus says the Lord, He who created you, O Jacob, He who formed you, O Israel, do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are mine.”
